Bosch in Hungary
Bosch has been present in Hungary since 1898 with its products. After its re-establishment as a regional trading company in 1991, Bosch has grown into one of Hungary’s largest foreign industrial employers with currently eight subsidiaries.
The Bosch Group in Hungary employs more than 18,300 associates (as of December 31, 2022). In addition to its manufacturing, commercial and development business, Bosch has a network of sales and service operations that covers the entire country.
With its business activities, the company aims to use technology to help shape universal trends such as automation, electrification, digitalization, connectivity, and an orientation to sustainability.
Robert Bosch Kft., founded in 1991, is a commercial operation involved in sales and customer service for vehicle parts, vehicle diagnostic equipment, power tools, thermotechnology equipment and security systems. In addition, acting in its other capacity as the South European Sales Center, the Budapest site undertakes regional tasks as well. The Bosch European Transport Management Center also operates here as well a HR SSC in Vecsés.
The company has been involved in development since 2000, and following an expansion to the portfolio of the automatic transmission software development division, the Engineering Center Budapest (ECB) was founded in 2005 and now has nearly 3500 employees, making Hungary Bosch’s largest R&D location in Europe after Germany in terms of automotive engineers.
